One of the thrills of being part of Hotels & Highways is switching roles from lead to support.  It is this spirit of humility and collaboration that made the initial Hotels & Highways tour a rousing success. On the upcoming Welcome Trespassers Tour, it would be hard to find a performer that would be more fun to support than the fiery Mia Dyson.

Mia's full band performances in her native Australia would leave any sidemen drooling to get on stage with her. Luckily for both performers and audience, the show will highlight both acts individually and performing their respective songs together. No matter who is at the mic, these California shows will certainly be electric.

Lisa Piccirillo, Patrick Thomas and Erin “Syd” Sidney are three seasoned singer/songwriters with thick portfolios of accolades and enough touring experience to count two busted minivan transmissions between them. In the early months of 2011 their new project, Hotels & Highways, left another van in the shop.

After retreating to a cabin on a lake in New York in the fall of 2010 with the modest intention of writing songs together for 10 days, the trio unexpectedly produced "Lost River," a full-length album that evokes Fleetwood Mac, Fleet Foxes and Ryan Adams, and has been called a "gleeful blend of country, pop, and rock and roll…that sounds more like the product of a group that had been together for years rather than a mere week and a half," (Dan Bolles, Seven Days VT). Released in March 2011, that album garnered enough support from their fans to fund a 13,000-mile 7-week national tour and enough industry attention to land them a slot at the 2011 ASCAP South by Southwest Showcase alongside Grammy-winner Dan Wilson and fast-rising duo The Civil Wars.

Now, just months after the band's inception, "Lost River" is a 2011 Amazon.com Editor's Pick and is holding a steady spot on the Roots Radio charts. Ever true to their name, Hotels & Highways will hit the road again in the summer and fall, sharing their cabin-grown music with an ever-growing audience.

Mia Dyson is inarguably one of Australia's finest musical exports to the United States. With an ARIA award in hand (Grammy equivalent) for “Best Blues & Roots Album” and three nominations for"Best Female Artist", Mia moved to Los Angeles and is gracing American audiences with soulful lyrics, extraordinary guitar playing, and her gritty, yet gorgeously haunting voice.

Since landing in the U.S. Mia collaborated with Dave Stewart (Eurythmics) to produce You and Me, a 4-song EP released on March 26th, 2011. Powerful and delicate, harsh and sweet; You and Me showcases the many sides of Mia and her songwriting.  From the title track; a loud and proud, lung emptying, brass tacks love song, to the bluesy and muscular “I Meant Something To You Once”, You and Me is a genuine and relatable collection of Mia’s best songs to date.

During her first year in the U.S. Mia toured in support of Stevie Nicks and rockabilly extraordinaire Chris Isaak, garnering new fans from Boston to Los Angeles.  Mia's reputation for outstanding performances and brilliant musicianship granted her Australian national tours opening for iconic artists including, Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt, and Joe Cocker.

“… a stark, soulful wonder, driven by her husky temptress of a voice and her very spare, very bluesy guitar picking and strumming.”
